How your music is protected

Every recording released by Masterpiece Recording Group is protected by copyright from the moment it is created and recorded. The sound recording (℗) belongs to Masterpiece Recording Group. The underlying composition — lyrics, melody, and songwriting — (©) belongs to Al West. Federal copyright registration establishes a public ownership record and is pursued for every release.

Each recording is assigned a unique Masterpiece catalog code (e.g. MRG-ALW-2026-001) that tracks the title, writers, ownership, producer, engineer, creation and release dates, master-file identity, and buyer transaction records. When an ISRC is assigned, it is permanently associated with the recording.

Purchased downloads are delivered through expiring, signed links tied to the buyer's account and order. Each purchase includes a limited number of downloads, and raw master-file URLs are never exposed. Transaction logs record every purchaser, date, and file. Streaming uses a separate delivery path so the original master is never directly accessible.

Every consumer download includes embedded metadata identifying the artist, label, copyright holders, catalog code, and website. This information travels with the file regardless of where it is stored or played.
